We bought this semi-finished kitchen knife from one of our suppliers. We've heard that this supplier also bought these semi-finished products from an intermediary a few years ago and kept them at a closed hardware manufacturer in Japan. We don't know the exact material because the middleman bought it without checking the material of the product.
